I'm off to see the wizard

Hello! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know I did; but, I always love Christmas no matter what.
I just thought I would say a quick goodbye (quick because I am in the midst of packing chaos). I am leaving (far too early) tommorrow morning for my 6 week stint in Canada-- returning the 8th of Feb. I am extremely excited at the moment, so I apologise if this post is skitish and jumbled.
Wish me luck, I might be able to post a few little words while I'm over there... otherwise, I'll be back to my posting ways in Feb!

Have a great new year!

I'm melting... melting....

Hello! Well, since last post I haven't been able to get into the studio, the air-cons are being installed... oh yes! So, I don't have any brand new drawings to show you, but I have a couple of older drawings for you instead! They are both of Rael, watching TV -- it's the only time he holds still for more than 30 seconds. I don't particularly like drawing with thick charcoal, it's a messy process that doesn't necessarily promise great results; but, these have something about them I somewhat like. Very different to the works I am procuding now!
OH WOW! It's so hot already! 25 degrees with 69% humidity and it's 7am! I just heard on the radio that it will reach 37 degrees today... why? Considering I will be freezing in 9 days when I jet-set to Canada, I really should be making the most of this heat... but come on! 37 degrees!
This may be my last post, as I might well melt today.
Stay tuned.

Trial Time

This morning I decided that I should try a different medium for my drawings, you know... just to mix things up a bit (also, I was a little 'egged on' by a comment I recieved last week, and it has been playing on my mind since -- in a good way). I went with charcoal (baby steps), a sharp and quite hard piece. I always seem to hate my drawings with soft/thick charcoal, they are cluttered and frantic. (I do have some examples of thick charcoal drawings that I can show you... maybe in the next few days). I like this drawing though -- less so the scan of it, but that's just how things go.
My gosh it's so hot! I think I might go and team the spray bottle filled with water together with the fan. The best kind of team!

Remember me?

Hello!!

My! How time flies. I'm sorry it has been so long since I last posted; I decided that I was in need of a little break. (Sven didn't come home, and, if you love your pets as much as I do mine, I'm sure you'll understand my need to break routine.)
Thank -you to all those who left comments and suggestions-- there were some very sweet words and interesting thoughts, thank-you for being so generous with your time!
So, seeing as I have been M.I.A lately, I will update you on my "break activities" now. Since you last heard from me, I :

* Baked an inordinate amount of sweet christmas goods.
* Started and finished my HUGE Christmas/Travel shopping list (well, almost finished)
* Bought lots of blues albums
* Agonised over my travel plans (how cold I am going to be)
* Decorated the house, watched Christmas movies, and listened to Christmas carols (dork)

Oh so riveting for you all, I'm sure!
It's good to be back.

Cheap Tuesday.

Hello! I have been so distracted by Sven's disappearance, I've forgotten to post. There is still no sign of Sven-cat, so I am still sad; but, I thought I might make others happy with a pre-Christmas sale in the shop! So hop on over and grab a bargain!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I filled mine with Blueberry Punch, late afternoon beach sessions, and plenty of movie relaxation. No much studio time, but we are having air-con put in soon. To say I am excited about that would be an understatement.

Happy Blogging!

Little Boy (still) Lost.

I'm still sad and worried: Sven is still missing. I have been spending time in the studio, trying to forget about the gloom hanging over me. I produced a few drawings for this week's shop up date, four drawings to be exact -- all of which are very line orientated and colour-less.

I have also been working in the studio on a few Christmas gifts for friends and family; but, I can't show those projects on here because sneaky little eyes might ruin their Christmas surprises!
Please spare some nice thoughts for our darling little kitty, Sven.
Until next time, stay safe and happy.

Worried Monday.

One of our kitties, Sven, didn't come in to the house when he was called last night, and is still no where to be found. It's very unlike him-- I am so worried my stomach is hurting. I hope I can look back on this post and laugh about how worried I was , not look back and think how my worry was justified. I apologise for the weak post, I don't really feel up to writing -- I'll update you on everything in the next couple of days.
Enjoy your Monday.

Hot Friday

Oh wow, it's really proving to be a hot end to spring! All I seem to do in the heat is complain, so it makes sense that I complain on this post: it's so hot! I am going shopping tomorrow, and for a strange reason, I am excited about it. I have a few things I am trying to get organised before I head overseas, so a little list of things needs to be purchased; but, I have promised myself a treat of sartorial persuasion, and that makes mundane list-shopping okay.
The drawing featured above is one that I managed to complete this morning, before the heat-paralysis took effect.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

The Shop is Online.

You read correctly: THE SHOP is up- and- running. I will be adding more, and different, works on a weekly basis, so I'll keep you all posted on future re-stocks. Please feel free to visit by anytime!
I feel very proud that I finally organised myself and got things going! The past few months have seen a change in me, I am definitely more motivated and on top of things., which is very unlike me. Perhaps 2009 will prove the start of something new?
It has been raining for the last few days, which has made walking between the house and the studio very difficult, especially as I broke my favourite umberella. I always fear that a new one won't stand wind gusts, they all seem so flimsy. I think it's more likely that I just don't want to say good-bye to my "Old Faithful"; but it must be done! (sigh)
Until next post!

I'm sorry

I have had a bit of a computer break lately. It started because I wanted to rest my sore arm, and then it just slipped into laziness. But I am back now, and what a difference 1 1/2 weeks make: I feel like I am in Christmas mode. I have all my special baking recipes all ready to go, and have set aside the paper needed for window snowflakes. I am such a dork when it comes to this time of year, so enough about that! I have been working a little in the studio, but mostly I have been giving my arm a break -- It's all better now. So, soon I should be able to put some colour into all these black a white drawings I have been posting. Thank you for all the wonderful comment feedback, it's so funrecieving them.
Enjoy your Monday!
It's good to be back!
